Today I've got the Iron and Wine song Southern Anthem going through my head. The song describes a woman who is overcome with emotion whenever she hears a particular hymn. "And when that southern Anthem rings / she will buckle to the sound / when that southern anthem sings / it will lay her burdens down". It's so beautiful and sad.

SOLD A PHOTO!

I recently entered a local photography competition in downtown Ithaca. I didn't win but I was one of the finalists whose photos were chosen to hang in the gallery as part of a month-long exhibition. The gallery called last week to say that someone has bought my picture. In the meantime the exhibition has been picked up by another gallery north of Ithaca which means that "Event", my picture, which is of a young girl in a red dress taken at a street fair in Stoke Newington a few summers back, will be on public display for another month, after which it will pass into the hands of it's new owner. I wonder where they'll hang it
